Visiting Malaysia.
7月1０日、成田空港近くのホテルに前泊。ホテルの窓から夕刻に空港を立つ飛行機がよく見えました。
We stayed at a hotel near the Narita airport on 7/10. From the hotel window, we could see airplane leaving one after another in the evening sun.
11 日 10:20 成田発 クアラルンプールまで約 7 時間の旅です。
7/11, we left Narita at 10:20. About 7hours to KL- Kuala Lumpur.
もうじきクアラルンプール。 窓から見えるビル群はどこかはわかりません。
Soon w are at KL. We saw hight buildings from the window. Maybe the suburb of KL.
16:40 クアラルンプール着。まず電車でターミナルを移動、 その後 T 氏からお借りした Sim Free 携帯の SIM カード (Digi の 25GB 、国内通話 30 分で 40 リンギット。）を買ってセットしてもらい、入国審査、荷物の受け取りそしてやっと入国。 出口ではアンドレアスと彼の友達のスカイ が迎えに来てくれていました。ほっと一安心です。アンドレアスたちの車は小さいので大きな車を持っている スカイが一緒に来てくれた のだそうです。 感謝 です。
空港のフードコートで二人に Grab Car という配車サービスの使い方、電話のかけ方を教えてもらいました。 何しろスマホなるものを使うのは初めてです。
We arrived at KL terminal-2 so we had to move to terminal-1 by train. Then we bought SIM card (Digs, 25GB, 30 min's domestic call, cost 40MR), passed immigration, collected our luggage and finally entered Malaysia. Andreas and his friend Sky were at the exit to welcome us. Sky has a big car so he kindly came to pick us up with Andreas. At the food court in the airport, they showed me how to use Grab car, which is a car dispatch service, and how to use mobile. Actually I’ve never used smart phone.
空港を出る と大きな夕日が地平線に沈んでいきました。空港のあたりは本当に平らで 360 度地平線 が見えました。そこを広い広い高速道路が通り、ものの 40 分ぐらいでクアラルンプールの近くまで来てしまいました。流石にこの後は ものすごい渋滞で、何車線もあるのにすべてに車が詰め込まれている感じ。 でもクアラルンプールはいつもこうだということです。この渋滞の中、わざわざ Lot10 に今夜の食材を買いに行ってくれました。 Lot10 は驚いたことに、日本語の看板、日本食の店が溢れていて、地下の伊勢丹のスーパーには日本の食材がいっぱい。ただし値段はびっくりするほどでしたが。
ホテルについてチェックイン。そうこうするうちに、 Fufa が仕事を終えて 私たちに会いに来てくれるといことなので待ちました。 Fufa と Abdreas は６月の秀人の個展に来てくれたので約１ヶ月ぶりの再会です。

When we left the airport we saw the big, red sun going down to the horizon. The area around the airport was very flat and we could see the horizon over 360 degrees. It was amazing for us living with a lot of mountains. The highway was wide so we could arrive near KL in 40minutes. Andreas said we were lucky. Usually it would be very crowded. Once entered the city there was a lot of traffic. There were a lot of lanes but every lane was jam-packed with cars. Even though the road was sooo crowed they took us to Lot10 for shopping for tonight. Surprisingly at Lot10, there were a lot of Japanese signboards and restaurants. Isetan Supermarket was underground selling a lot of Japanese foods and ingredients but were unbelievably expensive.
They took us to our hotel, we finished check-in. Meanwhile Fufa called and said he could come to the hotel to see us after his work. Finally we could see Fufa also. Fufa and Andreas came to Japan to Hideto’s exhibition in June. So We could see again here in Kuala Lumpur this time.

実は Fufa と Andreas には 10 年前にベトナムを旅行 した時、ハノイで会ったのです。 下はその時 の写真です。 http://tabinoekaki.p2.weblife.me/betonamutabii.html に彼らとの出会いの話が書いてあります。
この 10 年間お互いいろいろありましたがその間ずっとメールのやり取りは続いて、 やっと今年の 6 月、 10 年ぶりに横浜で再会しました。
Actually we met Fufa and Andreas in Hanoi,Vietnam 10 years ago. The photo below is from that time. I wrote about it in this page, http://tabinoekaki.p2.weblife.me/betonamutabii.html
Since then we have kept in touch and finally we could see each other this June in Japan. They came to Japan and visited Hideto's exhibition.
7/12 ホテルの８階 のエレベーターホールから見たクアラルンプールの街です。

いざ、朝食へ。 Go for breakfast.
一番右 がスモークサーモンやテリーヌ、生ハムなど贅沢な一皿。 サラダも新鮮 ですごくおいしかたです。
It was really a gorgeous breakfast. Smoked salmon, terrine, iberian ham, different kind of cheese and etc. Salada was also very fresh and delicious.
朝食だというのにこの豪華さ 。このほかカレーや麺類、煮込みやから揚げなどびっくりするほどいろいろ出ていました。なんと この朝食付きで一泊２人で 7000 円です。 もちろん部屋は広くてバス、トイレ、キッチン付きです。
This is breakfast, not dinner. There was a lot more, curry, fried stuff, noodle, Chinese cuisine.... The room charge is about 67USD including this breakfast for two. Of course, the room was spacious with private bath room and kitchen.
でも、 どれほどたくさんあっても 一度に食べられるのはこのくらい。
Even though there are a lot what we can eat is just this amount.
この日はゆっくり朝食をとり 、ゆっくり街の散策、そして食材の買い出しに行きました。これからここに６泊するのです。
This day we had a relaxing breakfast. Then we went for a walk to the city center.
街の地図です。 右側のミカサホテル に泊まりました。ここから巨大ショッピングモール、スーリア KLCC(Kuala Lumpur City Center) まで KLCC 公園を抜けて行きました。
We stayed at Micasa Hotel, then went to Suria KLCC, which is a big shopping mall through KLCC park.
公園の噴水。 クアラルンプールの街は本当に色々な人がごく自然に溶け合って、 とても和やかな 印象でした。海外にいるという緊張感を忘れそうです。
A fountain in the park. Kuala Lumpur is an interesting city. I felt that many people from different culture live in harmony. The Atmosphere of the city is relaxing and I almost forgot the tension of being overseas which we usually have while traveling.
これが公園がわから見たツインタワー。手前の黄色っぽい建物が伊勢丹。スーリアはこの左。スーパーマーケットは地下です。 This is rthe twin-tower. The yellowish building in front is Isetan department. Sure is the left and supermarket is underground.
スーリアは 地下一階地上５階で、あるとあらゆるお店が入っています。真ん中のエレベーターホールは吹き抜けです。 日本語 もずいぶん見かけました。５階のフードコートではうどんやきとり弁当、シャケ弁などもありました。
There are a lot of shops in Suria including Japanese lunch box restaurant and we saw a lot of Japanese character.
４階から のぞいたところ。紫と青の模様みたいなところは実は通路に並んでいる屋台の屋根です。

7/13 この日は Fufa たちとピクニック の予定だったけど、 Fufa が過労で熱を出したので中止。使い方を教えてもらった Grab Car のアプリを使って市内観光に行くことにしました。
On this day we had a plan to go on a picnic with them but Fufa got sick so we cancelled it. In stead we went sightseeing. We called a car using "Grab car” and visited the Royal museum.
まず初めに 王宮博物館 。旧王宮を博物館にしたものだそうです。
This is the first destination, the royal museum, which was originally a royal palace.
さすが熱帯、暑かったです。 旧王宮というのに思ったより質素でちょっと驚きました。
It was really hot. I It was rather simple as an old royal palace, I thought.
テラスまで 上がるとこんな感じです。中に入ると昔の家具調度や写真が展示されていました。

王宮のテラスから は街のビルの間にツインタワーが見えました。
クアラルンプールの街は今まさに発展中 で新しいビルがどんどん上に伸びていっていました。ずいぶん細長い建物が多いと思いましたが地震の無いこの国では問題ないそうです。
From the terrace we could see the twin tower between buildings. Kuala Lumpur is now quickly developing and new buildings are being constructed here and there. I felt a lot of buildings are tall and thin, compared with Japan but it won’t be a problem since there are no earthquakes in this country, Andreas told me on the first day in KL.
王宮の右奥に進んで振り返ると、 やっぱり王宮らしいテラスですね。

さらに右奥に進むと 別の建物があり、中は大きなホールになっていていました。
There was another building next to the museum building. It was a big hall with beautiful decoration.
部屋の写真を撮っていると どこからか子供達が現れました。あまりにかわいいので写真を撮っていいかと引率して来た先生らしき人に聞いたら「もちろん！」と二つ返事。
While I was taking the photos of the room, some children appareled. They were so cute so I asked a man who looked like their teacher if I could take their photos. He said “Of course!"
先生が子供達に なにやら声をかけると次々と集まって来て実に可愛いパフォーマンス。これだけでこの日は幸せな気分。
He said something to the boys then boys came together and took the pose of cheers. They were sooo cute and it made us very happy.
次の目的地は新王宮、イスターナネガラ。 Grab Car アプリで車を呼び、ドライバーの持っていたナビが示したイスターナネガラに行き、私たちを下ろして車は行ってしまいました。ところが目指す新王宮はどこにもありません。 ここは一体どこ？ 地図アプリと照らし合わせ、近くの人に色々聞いてなんとか自分たちのいるところを特定しました。どうもドライバーは私たちを、ぐるっと大きく回って結局同じ王宮博物館の裏の閉まっている入り口に連れていったようです。どうもイスターナネガラとはただ王宮ということのようで、ただそれだけでは新か旧か、区別がつかなかったようです。止むを得ず次の車を呼びました。次のドライバーには写真を見せて確認しまし、やっと新王宮に辿り着きました。ここです。
Next destination was the new palace, but the driver took us a wrong place.There are two palaces, new and old. Both are called Intana Negara. The driver put Intana Negara in her navigation and followed it. It leaded us to a different entrance of the same palace - royal museum. We realized it after she left so we called another Grab Car and showed the driver the photo of the new palace. Finally we could come here, the new palace. Grab car is cheap and very convenient but if you don’t know the place well, sometimes it is difficult to use it.
2011 年に建てられたそうです。 ドームが美しいです。
It was built in 2011. The domes are very beautiful.
ここが正面のゲートです。 This is the main gate.
皆残念ながら中には入れません。 観光客はみな格子越しに写真を撮っていました。
Unfortunately we can’t enter. Tourists were taking pictures through the iron fence.
門の両脇には警備兵が 。観光客が代わる代わる一緒に記念写真を撮っていましたがずっとこの姿勢でした。
Both side of the gate there were guards. Tourists took photos with them one after another but they didn’t move at all all the time.

金のドームが美しい のでアップでもう一枚。 One more photo. The golden dome is beautiful with sunlight.
空模様が怪しくなてきた と思ったらものすごい豪雨。小止みになったのでまた GrabCar を呼んでホテルに帰りました。途中、再び前が見えないほどの豪雨でした。
Gradually the sky got dark then suddenly it started to rain. It poured and poured. We waited till the rail stop and called a grab car.
Just after we got on the car, it stated to rain again. It pored so heavy so we felt as if we were under a water fall. The driver took us to the hotel without any problem. They are used to the heavy rain.
マレーシアはフルーツが美味しいです。手前のお皿に乗っているのはジャックフルーツです。甘酸っぱくて美味しいです。
Fruits are delicious here in Malaysia.
7/14
Fufaがなんとか復活したのでこの日はまず彼の友達のやっている画廊に行きました。イギリスをはじめ様々なところで活躍している画家だそうです。絵と一緒に記念撮影。この写真はAndreasが撮りました。
Fufa was almost recovered in the afternoon so Andreas, Sky, Fufa, Hideto and Midori went to an art gallery which is run by Fufa’s friend. Sky took all of us in his car. The artist is active in various places including England. The photo is taken by Andreas as a memory of us having come here.
その後 Fufa たちのマンション に行きました。 見上げる だけで首が痛くなりそうな高層マンションです。
After that we went to Fufa and Andreas’s apartment. Their room is in this high-rise building.
こちらはお隣のマンション。 屋上の右端のスペースに木が植えてあってテーブルと椅子が置いてあります。 KL では屋上に木が植わっているビルをよくみました。
This is the next building. On the roof top, there are table and chairs under the trees. We saw a lot of building which has, like a small park on the roof top
Fufa たちがマレーシアの伝統的なお菓子 を用意してくれていました。こうやって 蒸して食べる のだそうです。
Malaysian traditional sweets, which they prepared for us. These sweets are served after steamed like this.
タピオカやココナツをふんだんに使った ものだそうです。
Ingredients are Tapioca, coconuts and so on. Everything was very delicious.

もちろん味は最高。 もちもちしてココナッツたっぷりで、中の白餡も美味しかったです。
The taste? Of course it was superb !!! Thank you very much for inviting us to your home.

7/15 、 Sungai Congkak ( スンガイコンチャックと読むのだそうです。 ) いよいよ鳥見です。そもそも今回のアレーシアの旅はセアカミツユビカワセミ （日本のカワセミと同じくらいだけれど赤いカワセミ）を見たくて計画したもの。 スンガイコンチャックはそのカワセミがみられるかも知れないところ。 場所は地図にあるようにクアラルンプールの北東、車で約１時間のところにある自然保護公園です。
This is the first day for birdwatching. Actually we planed this tour expecting to see Rufous-backed Kingfisher, and Sungai Congkak is the place where we might be able to see it. It is located in the north-east of Kuala Lumpur, about 1 hour from KL by car. You can see it on the map.
朝 6 時。 朝食と昼食を持ってホテル前で ガイドのウェンチュンと会って彼の車で出発。 まだ薄暗いうちに公園の入り口に着いたので明るくなるまで撮影の準備をしながら待ちました。ここでは日の出はだいたい 7 時頃です。
At 6:00, we packed our breakfast and lunch, met our guide, Weng Chen, in front of our hotel and left in his car. We arrived at the entrance a little bit earlier so we waited preparing our camera. Here the sun rises around 7:00.
朝早い のでまだゲートは開いてないので横から入ると早速 アオヒゲショウビン 。まだ暗いのでなかなか色が出ませんがなかなかの出だしです。
Main gate wasn’t open yet so we entered through the side of the gate. We walked along the forest road for a while then Weng Chun said he could hear the call of kingfisher. Soon he found it. Rufous-collared Kingfisher! Fantastic! It was a bit dark to get a good picture but it was a very good beginning of the day.
こちらはもう少し明るくなってから。 These photos are a bit later so a bit better.
ゲートから少し歩いたところで 急坂を川にまで降りました。ここがセアカミツユビカワセミのポイントだそうで、ここで待ちました。
We went down from the road to the river. This is the point to wait the Rufous-backed Kingfisher so we waited here.
じっと待っている と色々な子がやってきました。まずこの子は ズグロジチメドリ 。
While we are waiting many birds came. This is Black-capped Babbler .
こちらは親子。 左が幼鳥 です。
The left is a chick, the right is maybe mother, or father ?
これも幼鳥。 This is also a chick, I suppose.
次にやって来たのは ハイガシラモリチメドリ Grey-headed Babbler
綺麗なトンボたち も来ました。 Dragonfly also came.
ノドアカヒメアオヒタキ Tickells Blue Flycatcher
ヘリコニア。 Heliconia
チャイロハウチワドリ。 地味だけれど可愛い子です。 Rufescent Prinia, Simple but very cute.
でも肝心のカワセミは来ません。 However rufous-backed kingfisher 、 we've been waiting for, hasn't come yet.
地元の鳥見の人 が何人か来ましたが、 しばらく待って、でも結局 皆帰って行きました。 ウエンチュンが他の鳥を探しに行こう というので秀人はポイントに残り私は林道に上がりました。
Several local photographers came, stayed for a while but soon gave up and left. Weng Chun told us to go to find another birds so Hideto stayed the point and I went up to the forest road.
まずは チェッカーノドキツツキ。 左上の円の中は 親が幼鳥に餌を与えているところ です。木が高い上に、空抜け逆光でほとん見えませんが証拠写真です。
Checker-throated Woodpecker The photo in the circle in the left is a chick asking for food to it's mother, or father, but can’t see well because they were on the very hight tree, against the sun.
ヒメカレハゲラ Buff-dumped woodpecker
クビワヒロハシ とても見たかった鳥でうれしかったですが首が折れそうなくらい高いところで写真を撮るのに苦労しました。 Black and yellow Broadbill. This is also I wanted to see very much but they stayed sooo high on the branch.... so I couldn't see very well. Weng Chun said there will be a better chance later and it was true.
鳥見をしながら地元の人と話していると、 どうやら目的のカワセミは、ここ三か月くらいぱったり姿を見せないそうです。以前は 7 時になれば必ずと言っていいほどそのポイントに来たのだそうで、そこで撮った綺麗な写真を見せてくれました。
People who came to the point said that they haven't seen rufous-backed kingfisher for these 3 month. Before it had come very often at 7:00 in the morning. They showed us some beautiful photos of them.

さらに林道を奥 に歩いて行くと、 左手にキャノピー乗り場 （ロープにつかまって森の上を空中散歩するアレです）があり、けっこう若い人がやって来ていました。さらに行くと川に出てキャンプ場がありました。
We went further along the road. Then I found a big signboard written " Skytreck adventure” on it. Skytreck, aerial walk over the forest holding onto a rope.
Young people came and enjoyed it. This adventure quickly becomes popular in many countries. We went further then we arrived at river.
川ぞいにはこんな子もいました。どこにでもいるようです。 シキチョウ と教えていただきました。 We saw Oriental Magpie-Robin there.
鳥見に来ていた人が 「今はドリアンとマンゴスチンのシーズンだ」 と言ってたくさん買って来ていたので、私たちも帰り道マンゴスチンの屋台をウェンチュンに探してもらい、買って帰りました。屋台のお兄さんが手に持っているのがマンゴスチン。 １０個買って６マレーシアリンギット ( 約１６０円 ) でした。手前の大きいのはジャックフルーツでこれがまた美味しいのです。
A photographer who came to the park said dorian is now in season. He bought a lot of dorian and mangosteen. So I asked Weng Chun to stop at a stall where we could buy mangosteen. Here it is. We bought 10 for 6 RG. The fruits in front are jack fruit. This is also very delicious.
ホテルのキッチンです。マンゴスチンすごく美味しくてすぐ食べてしまいました。もっと買えばよかった！
The mongsteen was really delicious. We ate all soon. I should have bought more.

7/17 フレーザヒルヘ,その１ To Frazer Hill Part-1
7/16はクアラルンプールの街散策に行ったのですがそれは最後の街散策と合わせて後ほどアップすることにして、ここからしばらくは鳥三昧です。この日は地図中央にある標高約1000mのフレーザーヒルに向けて朝6時出発。いよいよ本格的な鳥見です。
We went on city walk on the 16th but I will upload it later together with other photos of the city. So for a while, you will see birds, birds and birds. The birds we saw were really amazing!!!
We left Kuala Lumpur to Frazer Hill at 6:00 in the morning.
最初に訪れた のは池のある草原。近くの人が朝早くから散歩やジョギング来ていました。そして最初に見たのがこの子。 シマキンパラ 。草の実を食べながらちょこちょこと 素早く動く のでなかなかピントが合いません。２人合わせてやっと何ショットか取れました。
First we visited a field near a pond. Neighbors came for a walk or jogging. The first bird we saw was this, Scaly-breasted Munia . They hopped so quickly so it was really difficult to get a shot of them.
こちらは ヒメマミジロタヒバリ 。 Paddyfield Pipit
クリイロヒメカッコウ。 Banded Bay Cuckoo
メグロヒヨドリ。 Yellow-vented Bulbul
ヒメコノハドリ。 Common Lora
クリチャゲラ。 Rufous Woodpecker
インドトサカゲリ。 Red-wattled Lapwing
草原を離れてしばらくいくと 道沿いのフェンスの上 になんと アオショウビン 。青くないですよね。でも背中は青いんです。
Along the way to the next destination, White-throated Kingfisher was on the pole of a fence along the road..
ここからは次の草原。いろいろいました。まず セアカハナドリ 。右がメス。左がオスです。
At the next field, Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker. Right one is female and left is male.
ルリノドハチクイ。 一本だけ細くのびた尾羽のあるのがオスです。 Blue-throated Bee-eater . This is male with a white long tail.
キバラタイヨウチョウ。 Olive-backed Sunbird
ムネアカゴシキドリ。 左がオス、右がメスです。 Coppersmith Barbet . The right, female. The left, male.
鳥というより . .... なんでしょう。でも面白い顔ですよね。 It has really interesting face! The face is different from the image of birds.
さて、 草原を離れて少し山 に入ります。スンガイコンチャックでも高い木の上に見ましたが クビワヒロハシ 。その名の通り、横幅広の嘴が可愛くて大好きな鳥です。
Leaving the field and climbed a hill a bit further. Black yellow Broadbill . As the name shows it has broad beak and is very cute. I like them.
さらにもう少し山に入ります。 ここもいろいろ見ました。まず アカハシゴジュウカラ 。
Go further to the Frazer Hill. We saw a lot at this stop. Velvet-fronted Nuthatch
ベニサンショウクイ Scarlet Minivet
ハイムネヒヨドリ Grey-bellied Bulbul
コシラヒゲカンムリアマツバメ 。この子がまた ものすごく高い木の枝 にとまっていたのですが実に面白い顔でしょう？
Whiskered Treeswift . It stayed at a very high branch of a tree. The face is very interesting.
この場所ではまだいくつか見ました。実はこの日はあまりにもたくさんの鳥を見たので続きはまた次回にします。まだフレーザーヒルには着きません。訪問ありがとうございました。またぜひお訪ね下さい。

7/17 フレーザーヒルへ その２.....
To Frazer Hill part-2
17日は本当にたくさんの鳥を見ました。前回の続きです。フレーザーヒルに行く途中の駐車場にあるこの木は次から次へと鳥たちが集まってきました。この子はキムネメジロ。
There was a car park on the way to Frazer Hill, This tree has a lot of fruits and a lot of birds came one after another. This is Everetts White-eye
色あざやかな サトウチョウ。 英語の名前の方がらしいですね。その動きの早いこと早いこと。なかなかファインダーに収まりません。 Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot They move so quickly that it's difficult to catch them in the finder.
チャノドコバシタイヨウチョウ のメスだそうです。 Brown-throated Sunbird female
さてとうとう フレーザーヒルに入りました。 はじめに現れたのは地味ですが可愛い チャイロムジチメドリ。
Finally we arrive at Frazer Hill. Or I should say we entered the Frazer Hill area. The birds we saw first was Buff-breasted Babbler.
こちらは チャガシラガビチョウ。 日本のガビチョウとはだいぶ違います。

こちらは アカフサゴシキドリ。 本当に赤ふさですね。 Fire-tufted Barbet
なにやら物憂げです。 喉のリングが綺麗ですよね

しばらくしてガブリ。 でも鳥のくちばしは、歯のある動物のようにリンゴを噛み切ることはできないので、掻き取るようにして一度のほんの少し下食べられません。
Open it's beak to eat the apple there, but birds' beak is not as strong as teeth of animal so they can't bite off the apple. So they eat little by little.
しばらくすると、 オナガウタイチメドリ がやってきました。ちょっとだけにらめっこ。
Meanwhile, Long-tailed Sibia came.
こちらは オオアオヒタキ。オス です。 Large Niltava Male

ヒナとはいえ お母さんより体は大きいのに 餌をしきりにせがんでいました。
Male young bird. He is now bigger than his mother but asks her for food.
お母さんを食べちゃいそうなくらい 大きな口ですね。 How big his mouth is!!! Looks like he could eat his mother.
ズアカガビチョウ . この子も綺麗なガビチョウです。 Malayan Laughingthrush
多分、手前がお母さん ( お父さん？ ) で、奥が子供。
「ご飯ちょうだい。」「はい、はい。」 といった感じでしょうか。 "Give me food. I'm hungry1!" " Ok dear. Here it is"
ゴシキソウシチョウ。 ソウシチョウはどこでも華やかですね。 Silver-eared Mesia
仲のいい二人 (?) です。 A sweet couple.
こちらは ハイノドモリチメドリ。 地味ですが頭の縞が面白いです。 Grey-throated Babbler

7/18 この日は１日フレーザーヒルで鳥見。曇り時々雨。 先ずはトロゴンのポイントへ。ここでは他にも色々見られましたが、まず ズアカキヌバネドリ。
We stayed at Frazer Hill through a day. It was cloudy and sometimes rained. We went to a point where we would be able to see trogon. We also saw a lot of other birds there. Red-headed Trogon
続いて ゴシキドリ。 Black-browed Barbet
ヒムネスミゴロモ . Black-and-Crimson Oriole
路傍に咲く花。 Unknown flwower.
ミヤマヒヨドリ。 Mountain Bulbul
コノハドリ。 好きな鳥です。 Lesser green leafbird . One of my favorite.

ヒメコバネヒタキ。 Lesser Shortwing
タカサゴミソサザイ。 この子 , 可愛いんですけど、用心深くて、動きが早くて、暗いし、ブレてない写真を撮るのに苦労しました。
Pygmy Cupwing. It is very cautious, moves quickly and the place was dark so it was very difficult to take unburied photos.
ノドフサザイチメドリ Streaked Wren-babbler
ヒメフクロウ。 ガイドの Weng Chun はヒメフクロウの声が聞こえたと辺りを動き回って、なんと！高い、高い、高い木の梢に見えがくれしてとまっているのを見つけたのです。どうやってこれがわかるのでしょう。 840mm 相当の望遠で撮ってこの小ささ。しかも木の幹の柄とフクロウはそっくり。もちろん肉眼では全くわかりません。 円の中はさらに拡大したもの。ここまで拡大してやっと、ああ確かにいる、とわかりました。ガイドの目と耳はさすがだと思いました。
Collared Owlet. Weng Chun said that he heard the voice of Owlet. He looked around for a while and found it on the very high branch of a very big tree. How he could find such a tiny figure !!! It was really amazing. The photo is taken by 840mm telephoto and still this small. Enlarged one is in the circle. Without enlargement we couldn't recognize it at all. We were really amazed by his ears and eyes. Just Great !!!
日本語ではノボタンでしょうか。 A wild flower.
ムナグロタイヨウチョウ、メス。 実はこの子はオスが綺麗なんですけど、早くて写真には撮れませんでした。
Black-throated Sunbird, female. Male is beautiful but we couldn't take any photos of the male.
なんとか撮れた のはまだ幼鳥で色がいまいちでした。
Only could take young bird but he hadn't had the beautiful adult color yet.
アカメビタキ。 Rufous-browed Flycatcher
実に愛くるしいです。 Very cute.
フレーザーヒルの花。 猫のヒゲ というのだそうです。らしい名前ですね。

ハナドリ。 Fire-breasted Flowerpecker.
スマトラミヤマテッケイ。 とても珍しいのだそうで大勢の人たちがこの子を待って待機していました。日本人の鳥見ツアーの人たちにもここで会いました。彼らとはほぼ３日あちこちで一緒になりました。スマトラミヤマテッケイは用心深く、散々待ってもやっと道の傍の草むらまで。なかなか そこから出て来ません。 一度ものすごい勢いで道を横断 していきました。これが唯一なんとか鳥の姿が確認できる写真です。
Malaysian Partridge. It is a bird difficult to see so many birdwatchers were waiting for it. Among them there was a Japanese group who we met for almost 3 days here and there. We waited for it twice and finally it dashed from one side of the road to the other. This is just a so called evidence photo.
こちらは 私たちが泊まった Frase's Silverpark Resort というアパート です。私たちの部屋は４回の一番左側の部屋でした。手前に泊まっているのが私たちのガイド Weng Chun の車 です。ちょっとかっこいいで車でしょ。
This the apartment where we stayed for 2 days, called Frase's Silverpark Resort. Our room was the leftmost on the 4th floor. The car parked is Weng Chun's car. It was very cool.
建物は近づいてみるとちょっと古かったですが 中は広くて快適 でした。台所も必要なものは一応揃っていました。まあ電子レンジはなかったけど。
The building was a bit old but inside was spacious and comfortable. This is kitchen. Most kitchen utensils were there except microwave. Of course we didn't expect that much.
中はワンルームでこちらがベッドのある一角。 It was jst one room. This is the scorner of bed room.
アパートは高台にあり、しかも４階だったので、窓からの眺めは素晴らしかったです。これは隣の棟。実はこういう建物がたくさんあるのですがほとんど夜明かりは点いていませんでした。シーズンじゃないからなのでしょうか。それとも？？？
It was almost on the top of the hill and our room was on the 4th floor so the view from the room was very beautiful. This is the next unit. There were many units in this resort but I didn't see many tourist nor residents. Maybe because it wasn't a season. Or???
こちらは同じ場所の朝の眺めです。少し前までは真っ白い霧で何も見えませんでした。ようやっと霧が晴れてこのぐらい。大量の水あって初めてこれだけの森が育まれているということなのでしょうね。本当に昼間もパラパラですがよく雨が降りました。
This is the view of the same place. In the early morning we couldn't see anything the window because of the fog. Outside was just white. It mean there is a lot of water in this area and this much water can keep this beautiful rich forest. Actually while we were here it was always cloudy or raining a bit.
さて、夜です。 実は昼間フクロウが好きだと言ったら Weng Chun がそれならフクロウを見につれて行ってくれるというので夕食後にいそいそと出かけました。駐車場を出るといきなりいました。この子です。本当に Weng Chun は声を聞き分けるのが早いです。 オオフフクロウです 。
While we were watching Collared Owlet during the day, I told Weng Chun that we like Owls. Then he kindly proposed to take us to Owl watching. At night we left the apartment with expectation. At the gate suddenly Weng Chun said he could hear the voice of the Brown Wood Owl. It came just on the dead tree in front of us. How lucky!. This is the photo. Then it left soon. So we went another place to find another one. He really had not only good eyes but also good ears.
大フクロウを求めて いくつかの場所に行きましたがその後はさっぱり。日本人のグループとも会いましたが成果なし。 遅くなったので 諦めてしぶしぶ戻りました。 Weng Chun がゲートのところで少し待ってみようというので、ほとんど期待していませんでしたが待ちました。なんとほどなくしてバサバサという音がして、 来たのです。大フクロウ。 同じ木でした。こんなことってあるのでしょうか。
Looking for the owl we went several places. We met the Japanese group but couldn't find any owl. It became late so we gave up and went back to the apartment. At the gate where we saw an owl, Weng Chun said "Let's wait here a bit." Surprisingly, we heard the flapping sound of an owl and an Brown Wood Owl came to the same tree as the beginning of the night. How great !!!
暗いのでシャッタースピードはせいぜい 30 分の 1 。色々シャッタースピードを変えて撮りました。
It was very dark so the shatter speed was almost 1/30~1/60. It was very difficult to get au unblurred photos but got some good ones.
このあと飛び立つシーンもありましたが流石にブレブレで写真にはなりませんでした。でも 素晴らしい１日の終わり でした。まさに このアパートに泊まってよかった ！！！です。
After this scene it flew away. It was too dark to get a good photo of flying, but it was a wonderful end of the day. I was very happy to stay at this apartment.
翌 19 日はフレーザーヒルを離れますが、クアラルンプールに戻る途中まだまだたくさんの鳥を見ます。訪問ありがとうございました。またぜひお訪ね下さい。

7/19 。 この日は フレーザヒルでしばらく鳥見をしてからクアラルンプールに戻りました。
We did bird watching at Frazer Hill more and went back to Kuala Lumpur at the end of the day.

Little Cuckoo-dove We saw it side of the car park of our hotel.

アカハラコノハドリ フレーザーヒルで 何度も見かけましたが、遠かったり、葉に隠れたりで下がこの日やっと撮れました。
Orange-bellied Leafbird We saw them several times at Frazer Hill but they were always behind leaves or too far away. On this day finally we caught the site well.
この子はメス。美人です。 Female.

エボシヒヨドリ 頭の烏帽子が可愛いでしょう。 Black-crested Bulbul The black crest on the head is really cute, isn7t it?
この子はフレーザヒルからの帰りに見た子。 オレンジハナドリの幼鳥 だそうです。かわいいですよね。
We saw it on the way back from Fraser Hill. Orange-bellied Flowerpecker Juvenile Sooo cute!
楽しい鳥見を終えて いざホテルへ ... というところでしたが市内に入った 途端ものすごい渋滞 。最後はホテルがもうすぐそこなのに全く進みません。 わずかな隙間に強引に車が入ってくる ので腕と度胸がなければ恐ろしくて運転できません。 Weng Chun が横道を探してくれましたがそこもいっぱい。それでもなんとか ホテルまで送り届けてくれました。
After the bird watching we returned to Kuala Lumpur. The road was jam packed in the city and we couldn't go further even though we could see our hotel. All cars got in even a slight gap if there was and street was in utter caos. Weng Chun found out the way to go. It wasn't very successful but much better and finally he took us to our hotel at the end of the long day.

7/20 。 この日はビキットティンギとランチャンに行きました。 この辺りでもう一度、私たち訪ねた場所を 地図で紹介 しましょう。 上はマレーシアの地図、下は中部拡大図 です。
This day we visited Bukit Tinggi. Here we show the map of the places we visited.

ブキットティンギは遠いので朝５時１５分に出かけました。 もちろん真っ暗です。向こうに着く頃にやっと夜が開けてきました。
Bikit Tinggi is far away so we left earlier while it was completely dark. When we arrive there finally the sun rose.
ここは途中で立ち寄った コルマー・トロピカル・ベルジャヤ・ヒルズというホテル。ここで、目的地（植物園？）の入園手続きをするみたい。フレーザーヒルで出会った日本人ツアーの人たちとここからまた一緒になりました。
This is a hotel, Colmar Tropical, Berjaya Hills. Looked like Weng Chun did some procedure to enter the Botanic garden(?). Here, we met the Japanese group again.
さらに丘をぐんぐん上がって 目的地に着きました。車を降りて森の中を少し歩くと、ブラインドがかけてある鳥見場所に来ました。 ここでアカコクジャクを待つ ようです。先客２名。マレーシアから来たそうです。まだ目的の子は現れないよう。日本人のグループも着きました。このあたりで標高は 2000m 近く結構涼しいです。
We went up the hill further by car, walked for a while then finally we arrive at the place where we possible see the Mountain Peacock-pheasant. There were already two birdwatchers from Singapore. They said they hadn't seen it yet since 5:30 a.m. The Japanese group also arrived. Here he altitude is almost 2000m and cool.
最初に 現れためずらしい子はこの子。 コアカメチャイロヒヨドリ。 頭の冠が面白いです。
The first interesting bird we saw is this, Ochraceous Bulbul. It looks like having a crown on it's head.
こんな子も 来ました。アカハラシキチョウの幼鳥だそうです。
This one came. Young White-rumped Shama, said Weng Chun.
アカチャシャコ。 珍しいのだそうです。 Ferruginous Partridge. It's also a rare one, the Singapore guys said.
さてなかなかクジャクは現れない ので諦めて次の場所に行くことにしました。車を止めたあたりで鳥見をしていると、 森の中から「出た、出た。」 と叫びながら、日本人グループのガイドが走ってきました。急いで走って戻ると、 オスメス２羽がゆったり歩いていました。あまりに近すぎてファインダーに収まりません。 音を立てないようにゆっくり下がって、また下がって、なんとか全身を入れることができました。小鳥ばかり見ていたのでその大きさにびっくりです。グループの人たちが、 私たちが間に合ったことを 自分のことのように喜んでくれました。お名前を忘れましたが、全力疾走で知らせに来てくれた日本人ガイドさんに感謝です。
We waited a long time to see the peacock but we finally gave up and left. While we were looking for some birds near the entrance of the forest, the Japanese guide came running from the forest and screamed " Came! Came! " .
We dashed back to the point. Male and female peacock were there. They were too big so we had to carefully back to get their whole sight. Japanese birders asked us if we could take the photos of the peacock and were very glad as if it happened to them. Thanks to the guide for runing for his life.

クジャクも見られたので森を離れ、少し丘を下ったところで鳥見。ここにもいろいろいました。

ここで日本人グループとはお別れして私たちはランチャンへ。 Saying goodbye to the Japanese group we head for Laughing.
ここはもう標高は低いし、森の中で風もないのですごく暑かったです。ブラインドがあってあってそこで待ちます。ここでの目的はカザリショウビン。ミツユビは見られなかったので是非ともこれは見たい子です。
This is lowland forest so it was very, very hot. The first priority here is Banded Kingfisher.
待っていると色々現れました。まず サビイロムジチメドリ Ferruginous Babbler

ハイガシラアゴヒゲヒヨドリ Yellow-bellied Bulbul

ふと上を見上げる と黒っぽい鳥がちょこちょこ。 ガマヒロハシ だそうです。
I happened to look up and found a black bird up in the tree. It was Dusky Broadbill.
どうやら 巨木のうろの中に水が溜まっていて鳥たちが水浴びに来ている ようです。
It looks like there is a water in the hollow of a big tree.
こんな子も来ていました。 タンビムジチメドリ Short-tailed Babbler also came
こちらは地上で見た タンビムジチメドリ Short-tailed Babbler on he ground.
ガマヒロハシ。 水浴びを終えて気持ち良さそう。 Dusky Broadbill after bathing.
カップルでしょうか？ Are they a couple?
さて、 待てど暮らせどカザリショウビンは現れません。 声がするたびに Weng Chun が暑い中走り回って、それこそ汗だくになって探してくれましたがなかなか。このポイントで出会ったマレーシアのカップルは、前日に素晴らしいカザリショウビンの写真をこの場所で撮って見せてくれました。しかもオスメス両方。彼らの目的は特別なヤイロチョウでもう 3 日ここで待っているそうです。 もうダメかと諦めかけた頃、 Weng Chun の呼ぶ声。 とうとう探し出してくれました。オスです。高い高い木の上でしたが 夢中でシャッターを切りました。待ちに待った カザリショウビン です。とりあえず撮っては場所を変え、とうとう顔が見えるところに来ました。
In spite of having waited for a long time 、 Banded Kingfisher hasn't appear. Weng Chun was running around here and there to look for it, whenever he heard the voice of it, but no sight. A Malaysian couple there took a very nice photos of male and female from just this place the day before. They were there for 3 days waiting for a special pitta. It was really hot and humid. We almost gave up. At that moment Weng Chun called us. He finally found it. It was a male on the high branch. We were very much excited and continued to shoot it. How great!!!
Banded Kingfisher male. Weng Chun found a better place so that we could see the face well.
高い木の上だったのでカメラはこの角度。 首が痛いです。
残念なことに 綺麗なシマシマの背中はあまりよく見えませんでしたが、 ともかく見られました。いい日でした。
Thanks Weng Chun for finding the Banded Kingfisher!!! It was a great day.
この後幸せいっぱいでホテルに戻りました。 途中、 Weng Chun は忘れずにスーパーに買い物によってくれました。
After this we went back to our hotel with full of happiness. Weng Chun never forgot to stop at a supermarket.
