トリニダード・トバゴとジャマイカ、探鳥の旅　Visiting Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica

 1月30日早朝、トリニダード島からトバゴ島に飛びました。
 We flew from Trinidad to Tobago Island in the early morning of 1/30.
 
 小雨降る中トバゴ空港に到着です。この日は1日雨でした。
 We landed on the Tobago. It was raining all day through..

 
 トバゴのホテル。 Cuffie River Nature Retreat. 手前の建物の一階がレストラン。２階はゲストルーム。その奥の建物はプール。さらに奥が私たちのキッチンです。
 Cuffie River Nature Retreat.　We stayed here for 4 nights. The first floor of the main building is restaurant. Next building is swimming pool. The building at the end is our kitchen.

 
 私たちの部屋.。 部屋の鍵はと聞くと、オーナーのレジーナは「鍵なんてここ何年も使ってなかったわ。でも必要なら探してみるわね。」確かに山の中の一軒家に強盗が来ることは考えにくいのかもしれません。
　 Our room. I asked Regina, the owner of this hotel, to give me the room key. She answered she hadn't used key for quite a long time, if we want it, she would find it. Maybe no thief in this area in the middle of the mountain.

 
 廊下側のテラスです。ここから見える赤い花の木にいつもオームが来ていました。
 Terrace to go to each room. A lot of parrots were on the tree with red flowers.

 
 アカオキリハシ。この島でみたかった３つの鳥の一つです。アカオキリハシは昆虫を捕食するのでこうやってお気に入りの枝にとまって虫を狙っています。右を見て、
 Rufous-tailed Jacamar. One of the three birds we want to see in this island. Very beautiful.　They eat insects. So they are waiting for an insect. Looking at right,

 
 左を見て、
 looking at left,

 
 一気に飛び出します。
 Jump to catch a insect..

 
 この小さい虫を空中キャッチ。
 They catch it in the air!!!

 
 そして獲物と共に戻ります。
 Come back to his branch with his lunch.

 
 また虫をキャッチ。
 Gets another insect !!!

 
 後姿も美しいです。
 Their back is also beautiful!

 
 カップルです。手前がめす。奥がオスです。A couple.　
 The front is female. the back is male.

 
 半日ガイドツアーに行きました。右端のグリーンの服を着ているのがガイドのデズモンド。先にアップしたキリハシのポイントは彼に教えてもらいました。
 We went for a half-day guided tour. The guy with green clothes is our guide, Desmond. On the first day in this hotel he taught us the good bird-watching points so that we could find some interesting birds without him.

 
 セアオマイコドリ。暗がりにいるのでとても写真に撮りにくいです。
 Blue-Backed Manakin. They always stay in a dark bush. Very difficult to find and get photos.

 
 デズモンドがあそこにいる、ここにいると教えてくれるのですが暗くてよくわからなくて、カメラを向けてピントを合わせた頃にはもういません。それでも後日教えてもらったところを何度か訪れて何ショットか撮れました。
  Desmond found it and told us where they were, but when I focused, it flew away, but finally we could get a few shot thanks for him.

 
 この子はチャゴシエメラルドハチドリ。ですぐそばに巣がありました。
  Copper rumped hummingbird and her nest.

 
 シマアリモズ。実に見事な縞です。
 Barred Antshrike。beautiful Stripe.

 
 ツアーの途中で通り過ぎた農園で見た不思議な果物。名前は忘れてしまいました。
  During the tour we passed a farm. We saw it there. What is the name of this?

 
 半日ツアーはこれでおしまい。
 The end of The tour. It was a nice walking.

 
 こちらはトリニダードモトモト。もっともトリニダードではほとんど見られませんがこのロッジではごく近くまで来ます。
 Trinidad Motomoto. We can see them very close on this lodge.

 
 この子はキソデボウシインコ。ロッジの周りにたくさんいます。この花が大好物のようです。
 Orange-winged Parrot。They like this flower and eat it all day through.

 
 こちらはルビートパーズハチドリ。トリニダード島でもたくさん見ました。この子もこの花が好物のようです。

 
 ４日間の滞在はあっという間。帰りにオーナーのレジーナと記念撮影。
 4 Days in this island passed quickly. Before leaving, one shot with Regina.

 
 彼女はいつも夕食どきにはドレスアップしてゲスト一人一人に挨拶しに来ました。

 
 バイバイ、トバゴ。茶色く見えるのが空港の滑走路です。
 Good-bye Tobago. It was a really nice experience to stay here.

 
 再びトリニダードです。空から見ると随分山の上まで住宅地が広がっているのがわかります。
 Again, Trinidad. From the sky, we can see that the residence area is spreader deep into mountains.

 
 トリニダードでは空港の近くの宿に一泊。明日は早朝の便でいよいよ最後の目的地ジャマイカです。
 In trinidad we stayed in a hotel near the airport. Next day we will fly to Jamaica, the last destination of our travel this time.
